Return & Refund Policy – Parlekar Masalas

1. Scope

This policy applies to all purchases made from our online store operating in Canada. Because our products are food/spices, special rules apply for hygiene and food-safety.


2. Eligibility for Returns/Refunds

We accept returns, exchanges or refunds only under the following conditions:

The item arrives damaged, defective, or spoiled (e.g., seal broken, contamination, major quality issue)

You receive the wrong product or an item that does not match your order

The item has a quality issue upon arrival


We do not accept returns or exchanges for:

Change of mind, preference, or “buyer’s remorse” (for food items)

Opened or partially used food/spice items (due to hygiene/safety)

Perishable items that have been stored improperly after delivery

Sale, clearance, or discounted items marked as final sale


3. Time-frame

Any claim for a return/refund/exchange must be submitted within 14 days of receipt of the goods. Proof of purchase (order number, receipt) is required.


4. How to Request a Return/Refund

To start a claim:

Include your order number, description of the issue, and photographs of the product and packaging (if damaged/spoiled)

Once approved, we’ll issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and instructions


5. Shipping & Costs

If the return is due to our error (wrong item, damage in transit), we will cover or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.

Otherwise (e.g., you changed your mind but still eligible under policy), you are responsible for shipping the item back.

Use a trackable shipping service, as we cannot accept liability for returns lost in transit.


6. Refunds / Exchanges

Once the returned product is received and inspected, we’ll notify you whether the return is approved.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days (or as per payment provider’s timing).

We may offer an exchange of the same or equivalent product, or store credit if that’s preferred or more feasible.

We do not charge restocking fees, but if the item is found ineligible (e.g., opened, used, or not in original condition), it may be rejected.


7. Exceptions & Special Conditions

Because these are food items (spices, blends), they are generally considered final sale unless defective or mis-shipped.

Bulk or custom orders may have additional restrictions—please check with us at time of purchase.

International orders (outside Canada) may have different conditions; duties/customs fees are the purchaser’s responsibility.


8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will have a new effective date and apply to purchases made after that date.
